‘বন্ধুগণ........................’

ক্ষণিক উচ্চারণ লোকনাট্য ও নীতির,

তারপর,

কুয়াশার মতো সাদা কাঁচে আবৃত

রেস্তোরার খাবারেরা দীর্ঘশ্বাস ছাড়ে,

অমাবস্যার শিলনোড়া গড়ায়

পথের উপর ‘বাঁ.....চা.....ও...’

‘...........আজ আমাদের ছুটি,

আজ আমরা তোমাদের সাথে ঘুরবো,

তোমাদেরকে সার্কাসের সঙ সাজাবো

এবং ক্রমান্বয়ে গিলে ফেলবো

ড্রয়িংরুমে উদ্যানে ও আকাশের নক্ষত্রের গৃহে।’

সুখের পায়রারা উড়ে যায়

নীলিমায়;

অথবা আঙুরের গাছে ঝুলছে মুলো আর কাঁচকলা।

সাদা শালুকের মতো ফুটন্ত জীবনের

মোড়ে মোড়ে

তুষার ঢাকা পাহাড়, অন্ধকার উপত্যকা, সব পথ রুদ্ধ,

তবুও তো জ্বলে উঠে আগ্নেয়গিরি, জ্বালায় সভ্যতা;

প্রত্যুষে থুথুর তেতো ড্যালাটা ছুঁড়ে ফেলে

মাথা-মুখ-গলা-

ওইতিহাসিক স্বপ্নপ্রাণ

শহরের চোখ দেখে কাদা মাখা অসুখি সব মুখ

কংকালের মতো দেহে চটা উঠা বিচ্ছিরি অসুখ

আয়না ও রেটিনায় এবড়ো থেবড়ো ছায়ামূর্তি

পাথরের নিচে সাজানো আছে পুরোনো সব রীতি,

নড়ে চড়ে গল্প করে অন্যের উপর ঢলে পড়ে চিত্তহীন ফুর্তি

বর্ণান্ধ কালো সাদায় অভ্যস্ত সব অর্ধমৃত প্রাণ

ফলবাগানে তারা কখনোই করেনি পূর্ণচন্দ্র স্নান

বিমূর্ত চিত্রের মতো হারিয়েছে বৈশিষ্ট স্বরূপ

ত্রিকোণাকার আয়তাকার বর্গাকার গোলাকার রূপ

বদলে গেছে তারা সব ইতিহাসের ক্ষমাহীন চাপে

ডাক্তারেরা তাই গজ ফিতে দিয়ে বয়সের পোড়াদেহ মাপে।

মায়ের হাতে গড়া সন্তানের সহজাত জিভে

মাতৃদুগ্ধের পচনে মায়ের সংগে নিভিবে

ক্ষণিকের জন্মদণ্ড পূর্ণজন্ম দিবে কিছু ব্যর্থ পিতা

অসফল সন্তানদের কতিপয় ব্যঙ্গ কবিতা

হস্তরেখা পড়ে খুঁজবে তারা জ্ঞানের মলমূত্র

ভাগ্যরেখা রাশিচক্র তাবিজের অসীম শক্তিমন্ত্র

পরপারের বৈতরণীর জল খেলা করে তাদের সঙসারে

রাজপথে নেমে দেখ স্বস্বার্থে কেউ কেউ লিমুজিন হাঁকায়

প্রাচীন গল্পের মতো কেউ শুধু পায়ে হেঁটে হাঁড়ি চেটে পেটকে বাঁচায়;

আর কিছু বেকার তরুণ শিল্পের উদ্যানে বেঁচে থাকে গানে গানে,  

লোডশেডিঙের রাতে অন্ধকার হাতড়িয়ে মুক্তো তুলে আনে,  

অশান্ত প্রতিচ্ছবি পাহাড়ের আঁকে কবি লেজার রশ্মিতে

শান্ত কবিতা আওড়ায় পদ্মা যমুনার ক্লান্ত কথার ছবিতে

আবৃত্তির মোহনায় ওড়ে মায়ের মুখ, মাঠখেত বন তেপান্তর

আকাশের ভ্রুনাচা সৌখিন কল্পনার উন্মুক্ত বন্দর;

সে সবের কোণে কোণে দৃষ্টির মিষ্টি নেশা আছে

সিদুঁরে মেঘ দেখেও ঘরপোড়া মানুষের মণিমালাপূর্ণ

অমল দিনরাত উদযাপনের আদিগন্ত রেশ আছে।

সেইসব রাতদিনে কারাগারে ঝুলেছে নায়কের ফাঁসির দড়ি

টিকটিক বেজেছে কল্পনায় সুকান্তের সময়ের ঘড়ি

তার কোলে মাথা রেখে হেসেছে উত্তরপ্রজন্মের হাসি

সমবেত হয়েছে শেখাতে ঘৃণা কিছু শাড়ি নালাকাশী

উজান ও ভাটিতে একঝাঁক মুখ যেন প্রবাহমান বাঁশি।

The Vaol-Modhupur Shal forest of Bangladesh is going to extinct.

The Forests of Vaoal, Modhupur, locally called Vaoal-Modhupur “sal” forest, very near from Dhaka, Bangladesh; are declining for the aggression of Industries & Capitalists. Many industries have been constructed and functioned in the forest. A lot of people are working there and polluting the forests. Already tigers, bears, deer and other animals have been extinct from the forest.

Traditionally “sal” forests used to cover vast areas in the centre and east of Bangladesh. In addtion to the “sal” trees (Shorea robusta) which constitue 70 to 75% of the forest composition, this type of forest includes several valuable tree and herbaceous species like the sungrass. Biological diversity in the “sal” forests is unique. Nevertheless, the Asian Development Bank has actively promoted the destruction of the “sal” forests by considering them of low productivity, thus financing projects for tree monoculture plantations using eucalyptus and rubber among other species. Nowadays the only big patch of “sal” forest standing is that of Modhupur. Most of the forest land has been denuded, degraded, and occupied by forestry companies or displaced people.

Most of the forest is now occupied by the leaders of Awami Leage and BNP, the 2 major devastating political parties of Bangladesh. In the last 2 decades, 2000 acres forest land have been destroyed by the leaders. The forest department of Bangladesh says that 60,000 acres area is “sal” forest land. But now only 6,900 acres area exists as forest land. All the influential powerful leaders destroyed the rest 53,000 acres forest in the last half century. A long report of the daily Samakal in 2 March, 2012 presents the critically endangered position of the forest.

But the policy of Bangladesh government is anti-forest. The local leaders intrude in the forest, grab lands, cut trees and kill animals. A report of a Bengali Daily the Kaler Kanthapresented in 2008 that 93 illegal land holder established industries in the forest. A lot of illegal saw-mills are functioning in the forest and cutting trees. Roads and highways are also a tremendous threat to the forest and its wild species. To save the Vaoal-Modhupur “sal” forest, it is necessary to take actions against the intruder and destroyer of the forest.

12,000 species exists in Bangladesh and many of them are now on the way of extinction. About 200 species of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles had been extinct in the last 100 years. The actions taken by the govt. of Bangladesh make faster of their extinction. 10 illegal zoos of the country are killing species for their inexperience and lack of knowledge on wild animals. A famous daily, The Prothom-Alo reported in 27th January 2012, that the illegal collections, sells, marketing, smuggling and killing of species throughout the country are going tremendously. Moreover, the leaders of the present government are violating the laws and they established illegal zoos where critically endangered species are in threat, the report says.

Killing of migratory birds is a common scenario in Bangladesh. Thousands of migratory birds visit the country and the people kill them for food or other purposes. But the administration doesn't take any action against the killers. Among 750 species of birds of the country, minimum 50 species extincted from the country and 400 species are in critically endangered position. In a report of another daily The Shamakal published that the local people of a district Vola are killing Migratory birds horribly.
